Copenhagen, Denmark, September 29, 2023– Maybell Quantum, a leading quantum hardware innovator from the U.S., proudly announced the establishment of its European headquarters in the Danish capital. This strategic location will double as the company's regional R&D and Service hub and feature their flagship MayQ Lab (pronounced: “make lab”) – an expert supported, full-stack quantum hardware facility designed to accelerate quantum research and innovation.
Maybell Fridges are the future of quantum infrastructure—combining unparalleled ease-of-use and reliability, with stellar performance and a compact footprint. MayQ Labs are also equipped with our industry leading Flexlines as well as RF components, control electronics, sample holders, qubits, and an array of measurement tools. The presence of on-site quantum engineers and technicians means that innovators can focus on own quantum devices and leverage Maybell expertise for technical support, experimental design, and equipment expertise.
The company’s facility will be situated at the historic Niels Bohr Institute. “Denmark has always been at the forefront of quantum research. We are honored to be located at the birthplace of quantum mechanics.” said Maybell’s COO, Bryan Choo, “We are beyond excited to collaborate with the Novo Nordisk Foundation Quantum Computing Programme(NQCP), established leaders in the Danish quantum industry, and the rapidly growing start-up ecosystem.”
Peter Krogstrup, CEO of NQCP and Quantum Foundry Copenhagen, commented, “We are excited that Maybell chose to establish their European headquarters here in Copenhagen and join us on our mission to enable the development of a fault tolerant quantum computer. It further strengthens our program to have Maybell’s cryogenic hardware development activities and full-service lab on-site.”
Startups, corporates, and research labs can access the MayQ Lab through a variety of options. “Flexibility is key –whether you’re a startup needing to scale from 0 or a company looking for a dedicated ‘Cold Cloud’ that provides quantum infrastructure-as-a-service with maximal uptime, we offer a solution to meet your needs” says Maybell CEO, Corban Tillemann-Dick. “Our vision is to showcase the leading edge of enabling quantum hardware and for MayQ Labs to serve as hubs and accelerators of quantum research activity.”
Cathal J. Mahon, Chief Business Officer of Deep Tech Lab, agrees. “From the perspective of Deep Tech Lab - Quantum, the launch of Maybell’s MayQ Labs will be of incredible value for the quantum tech start-ups that participate in our programs and, not least, their investors. It will enable these companies to obtain access to leading edge quantum hardware on a pay-as-you-go basis without long lead times, painful integration, and astronomical costs associated with capital investments. We see this as a key enabler for the quantum startup ecosystem in Denmark”.
The Copenhagen labs will open in November with a second lab in Denver in Q1 2024. Reservations are live.
